Icon Modding - individuelle XP Icons

Wer mit seinem Windows XP glücklich ist, aber einige Icons individuell anpassen mö,chte, der begibt sich meist im Internet auf die Suche.
Hier wird man auch schnell fündig. Es gibt riesige Mengen an kostenlosen Icons von zweifelhaften Anbietern, bei denen man oft noch bedenkliche Programme installieren muss. Oder man findet extravagante und extrem ausgefallene Icons die aber leider nicht mit den in XP enthaltenen harmonieren.
Oft ist auch genau das Icon was man sucht gar nicht zu finden.

Also was tun.

Die Lö,sung liegt so nahe.

Windows bringt von Haus aus schon dutzende an schö,nen Icons mit, man muss sie nur finden. Viele dieser Icons verstecken sich oft als Zweit- oder Dritt-Icon in .exe Dateien oder sie sind als ganze Icon-Sets in .dll oder .cpl Dateien.

Leider enthalten nur sehr wenige .CPL oder .DLL Dateien Icons Weil es sehr mühsam ist alle diese Dateien nach Icons zu durchsuchen habe ich hier mal eine Auswahl zusammen gestellt.
Der Platzhalter %SystemRoot% kann jeweils gegen das Windows Verzeichnis ersetzt werden. Z.B. C:\Windows oder c:\WINNT.
